Drumcroon’s final exhibition will end on Friday 21st October at 12 noon.
This week is the last chance for visitors to see the work of the internationally renowned sculptor, Peter Randall Page. The town has been fortunate in the number of acclaimed artists who have given willingly of their time and creative energy to support the gallery, recognising its unique approach to learning.
Peter will be the last in a long line of very eminent, creative people to exhibit in Wigan.
Although the gallery will close, Drumcroon’s highly commended Outreach Service will continue, and staff can be contacted on 07796281185.
A very big thank you to all in the community who have supported us over the years and we hope that many of you will be able to join us for ‘The End of an Era’ event on Friday 4 November 14:00 until 20:00. Bring a bottle or a nibble!
'Showing his Hand'
Peter Randall-Page, small works
13 June - 21 October 2011
This exhibition documents the thinking and making processes of one of the country's leading artists, and will illuminate his passionate engagement with the natural world.
Peter Randall-Page is fascinated by 'naturally occurring pattern and the dynamic tension between order and chaos' (Sarah Coulson, Assistant Curator at Yorkshire Sculpture Park).
His beautiful works in clay, stone, bronze and iron, along with his works of paper, present a beautiful and intriguing labyrinth within which to explore his preoccupation with the natural world.
We are delighted to be showing his work at Drumcroon.
