He is principal lecturer and Director of Art & Computing Technologies in the School of Art and Design and MIRIAD (Manchester Institute for Research and Innovation in Art & Design) at The Manchester Metropolitan University.

Timeform

Paul Clifford and Charlie Holt are currently generating a new body of work that has arisen through their positions as travelling artists who share an empathy for surrealism. The work has been prompted by journeys made between several global locations, including Portugal, France, Germany, India, Spain, New York and North Yorkshire.

Louisa Bannister - "In creating this piece I explored a range of possibilities using what might be described as new media. These included using the recorded sound of the stream to create an electronic image which responded to, and was created by, the nuances of sound. I also took a series of digital photographs which I worked on to create a range of computer generated images and drawings."

Anneka Pettican - 'Chorus' is site-specific.The work attempts to engage the viewer with writing – with language in the making. Witnessing the slow paced production of the layered text, the viewer is placed in a situation of uncertain expectation. This results in an unusual form of textual suspense.

Matthew Roby is a sculptor who creates characters and creatures from found materials. In his recent work, he has incorporated his three-dimensional characters into the narrative of a story, utilising new technologies to create digital imagery.

Ben Cook - 'I attempt to make the viewer question perceived boundaries and hierarchies between media, leading to definitions such as ‘fine art’ and ‘craft’. I pose questions, I don't try to answer them. The work is at times serious and also humorous and sometimes confusing, in order to stimulate thought and debate.'
